Running Away !
Running is popular of course. Its cheap, burns calories, releases endorphins, makes you look attractive now that you have a hobby.
A run provides you more clarity...or not - ask forest gump.
In Udaan (2018), 17 year old Rohan is made to run every morning with his physically and emotionally abusive father - something he detests. Even more so when his father races him in the last leg and beats him every time. At the end of the movie, when Rohan decided to leave home, he does so by staging a walkout in front of his father and step wife. His father chases him across the homes of Jamshedpur. The final punch coming when Rohan increases his speed. The man who beat his son (physically and in the daily races) sees Rohan first barely out of reach and then aeons away. Rohan turns and hives a smirk. The smile of a man who's finally made himself seen and heard.
Cut to this scene from 'The worst person in the world'(2021). Julie is in along term relationship with Aksel, a comic book artist 15 years her senior. The stress and realities of the relationship are catching up to her. As Aksel is poring out a cup of coffee, she fantasizes an escape. The world (and Aksel) comes to a standstill as she escapes, running along the streets of Oslo to a cafe. The only person not stuck is Einvind. They share a kiss and spend the day together. She makes it back to her apartment at daybreak and unpauses, as if the day never happened
