USMLE timeline

 I regret not having enough info - although it's never too late, here is how I would go about it if I could do it again -

Year 1 and 2- get basics right- towards end of year 2 - watch boards and beyond vids and take notes

Year 3- Do Uworld, NBMEs, schedule and take step 1

(Bunk clinical postings- not of much use)

Year 4 - apply for clerkship for the next year- UNC,UAB, UIC ,Mount Sinai etc

Internship- take break and go for clerkships(or sneak in between your final year), volunteer and ask to be associated with research projects -hospitals, iisc, tata memorial etc

Start doing Uworld and complete step 2

Start with applying process with US -LORs, personal statement and interview - while also being a research fellow at mayo etc 

Match 8 years after joining MBBS on j1/hib - hib requires step 3

Do fellowship at uab (visa waiver job?)

Be on h1b till the backlog clears or visa lands by *cough* 90 day fiancé route

Branch indecision-

I wish I was made of sterner stuff- that I was more ambitious- I should have shadowed some ss surgery docs like kind- made a commitment instead of second guessing like this - also giving up on things before trying- mayo and John hopkins have female indian imgs on their residency programs - I shouldn't listen to the ppl around me so much and get swayed so mu h
